Lawdragon Names Eight Members of Longford Capital to 2024 Global 100 Leaders in Litigation Finance

CHICAGO, April 12, 2024 - Lawdragon named eight members of the Longford Capital team – Cindy S. Ahn, Marc A. Cavan, Timothy S. Farrell, William P. Farrell, Jr., John E. Garda, Russell J. Genet, Justin Maleson and Michael A. Nicolas – to its list of the 2024 Global 100 Leaders in Litigation Finance.

Lawdragon has reported on leaders in litigation finance for 10 years, originally alongside legal consultants and advisors. In 2020, Lawdragon established the Global 100 Leaders in Litigation Finance, reflecting the growing impact the industry continues to have on litigation globally. Lawdragon selects individuals through a proprietary process that incorporates journalistic research, peer vetting and submissions.

Lawdragon’s list recognizes significant commercial funders who provide financial resources to claimants not to encourage frivolous litigation, but to support meritorious claims that might not otherwise see their day in court.

Lawdragon has recognized the Longford team since the inception of its Global 100 Leaders in Litigation Finance initiative; with the addition of Justin Maleson, this year’s cohort is the largest to date. Longford is pleased to have so many of its members – nearly 10 percent of the Global 100 – recognized in this manner for their work with leading law firms, corporate and individual claimholders, and universities.

“This year’s decision to recognize so many members of the firm reflects the marketplace’s respect for the breadth of our talent, and our fierce commitment to our values,” said Tim Farrell, co-founder and Managing Director of Longford Capital. “With more than $1.2 billion in assets under management, we take nothing for granted. We work hard to remain at the leading edge of the litigation finance industry, providing innovative solutions to the law firms, companies, universities and other entities that aim to limit the risk of pursuing meritorious legal claims, or grow by leveraging these claims as assets. The recognition of our peers is as deeply rewarding as ever before.”
