John is an experienced trial lawyer with more than 25 years of litigation experience, which includes representing clients in business disputes, complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, professional liability relating to accountants, lawyers, investment bankers, officers and directors, and disputes involving health care contracts, real estate and construction. John has appeared before state and federal trial courts, state and federal appellate courts, arbitration associations, and administrative boards around the nation. Prior to joining Longford Capital, John was the Managing Partner of the Dallas office of K&L Gates LLP, a Global 20 law firm. John also served on the firm’s Management Committee and Advisory Council. John also served as legal advisor to several corporate Board of Directors and Board Committees. In this role, he advised the Board in managing the critical issues that the Board needs to address in fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities. John also represented clients in corporate governance matters, SEC investigations, and internal investigations, including independent audit committees. He managed the legal needs and served as the legal advisor on behalf of the firm to several clients. Following graduation from law school, John clerked for the Honorable Jorge A. Solis of the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas. After earning his MBA, Josh joined Code, Hennessy & Simmons as a Manager, and then JHL Capital Group as CFO, where he managed the growth of the alternative asset manager from $11 million to over $2 billion in AUM. In addition to entrepreneurial roles, Josh was most recently the CFO of MATH Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm, where he managed all aspects of finance and operations. She is an accomplished attorney with nearly 20 years of experience as a member of the Intellectual Property groups of some of the most prestigious law firms in the country, including Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP; Kirkland & Ellis, LLP; Schiff Hardin, LLP; and Global IP Law Group, LLC. Cindy also worked for Abbott Laboratories, and served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Third Wave Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded molecular diagnostics company. Cindy has assisted companies in the licensing, sale, and enforcement of intellectual property rights in a wide array of industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, bio-similars, electronics, computers, software, telecommunications, medical devices, and many others. Cindy has significant experience litigating complex intellectual property matters in federal courts throughout the United States, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She has particular experience with Hatch-Waxman (“ANDA”) pharmaceutical patent cases. Cindy is a Registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Most recently, he led the intellectual property practice at Harrison Law LLC, a Chicago litigation boutique. Client feedback and peer reviews during Marc’s time in private practice earned him recognition by Chambers USA, IAM, and SuperLawyers. Marc is registered to practice with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and he has significant experience litigating patent and trade secret cases in federal courts throughout the United States, as well as handling matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Andrew was a member of the litigation departments of some of the most prestigious law firms in the country, including Hunton & Williams LLP (now Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP) and McGuireWoods LLP. He has significant experience litigating complex antitrust and insurance recovery cases. He has also represented corporate clients in a range of commercial litigation matters, including fraud, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty matters. Before joining Longford, Andrew also maintained an active pro bono practice, and he has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights since January 2022. Before entering private practice, Andrew clerked for the Honorable Charles A. Pannell, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Beginning his time with Koch Industries, Sam worked for their tax accounting and compliance teams, supporting a Koch subsidiary, Flint Hills Resources. Following his time with Flint Hills Resources, Sam worked for another Koch Industries subsidiary, Molex, an industry leading technology and connector production company, in their Chicago office. During his time with Molex, he gained significant experience leading and analyzing internal and external facing global transactions including acquisitions, restructurings, terminations, and liquidations. He is responsible for the fund accounting, including quarterly, annual and ongoing financial, tax and investor reporting. Nathan is a licensed CPA. Prior to joining Longford, Nathan was a Senior Manager in the Trust Solutions practice (audit and tax services) at PwC where he managed a portfolio of private equity, registered investment company, and real estate audit clients, focusing largely on valuation estimations and reporting requirements. While at PwC, Nathan focused heavily on the litigation finance industry. Prior to joining Longford, Nathan served on the PwC audit and tax team responsible for conducting the annual audit of Longford funds for 5 reporting cycles. Nathan is a graduate of the University of Missouri in Kansas City where he earned a Master of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Business Administration. | |
